I am your typical born-again virgin. Only hindu, with its theory of reincarnation, would give religous credibility to my sexual deficit. This has worked to someones benefit (ie: ex-girlfriends and future benefactors). Today, my ever popular self decided to tighten up the Popgun by introducing the Blog to AJAX. And boy, magic was in the air.

Also using AJAX, is a new, and urgently needed, wishlist for WebLab™. Although I never felt I ever needed one as a consumer, they seem to be a staple for eCommerce solutions, so there went my friday night.

So yeah, the Popgun Eighty-Eight Dot Orge is now powered with industrial strength AJAX. Oh yeah, and last week I drank too many newcastles and woke up the next morning next to a mod_rewritten Popgun. What a morning, Yeesh!

One day, L337 speak is going to be honored with as much appreciation as Kanji, the Japanese Idyograms that can be discovered in the 'burbs tatooed on some jerkbags arm. I came to this conclusion when I discovered that different numbers/letters can be translated into other alphanumetric symbols, (ex: 7 = L; 7 = T; 7 = seven!). Just as L337 or 733t-speaks nebulous characters can be reinterpretted, so can Kanji (its not just reserved for words like "Honour" and "Love"). Infact, the artform in the Japanese Past-time, Haiku, is due to the harmonious blend of symbolic references . I refused to do Haiku in elementary school, because I cant read Kanji. Most people feel that the beauty of Haiku is in its simplicity - not true - as i just stated, its actually a complex whirlpool of symbols in a confined space. Anyone who actually enjoys Haiku thats translated to an Alphabet or another series of Idyograms is a pretentious idiot. So, will Elite speak have the same artistic integrity as Kanji? Only time will tell.

I've noticed I've been getting deeper and deeper into the viper-pit of Terror EBM. Artists like Hocico, Fiendflug and Retractor.

In regards to WebLab™, I spent the day mod_rewriting the frontend. For those who aren't familiar with mod_rewrite , basically it converts This:

webpage.com/page.php?var1=14&var2=88

into this

webpage.com/page/14/88

It both improves the cosmetics and security of the page. You'll notice that the Popgun Eight Eight Dot Ogre doesnt use it. Theres a very good reason: I'm lazy.

The weekend was a huge uphill battle against Internet Explorer 5.0 CSS compatibility that nearly cost me my sanity.

After much hesitation, I finally gzipped the WebLab frontend. This is just as it sounds. It compresses the HTML on the page. I'm saving approximately 60% of my bandwidth through this process.

For the convinence of our clientelle regarding Breadstream, I wrote an Auto-Update script that will constantly refresh each of our sites with the latest version of the WebLab Build. For some reason, through this whole ardouous ordeal, I find that to be my crowning achievement.
